Exigence of TeamHealth Earns 2012 EPIC Advantage Award

AMHERST, NY – Emergency Physicians Insurance Company Risk Retention Group (EPIC) along with its insured ED groups recently acknowledged Frank Lee, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, Vice President of Medical Affairs, Exigence of TeamHealth, and his Emergency Department management team as the winner of the first annual EPIC Advantage Award.
“The EPIC Advantage Award recognizes an EPIC insured group’s achievements towards solving a complex problem or implementing an effective process improvement initiative” said Ed Boudreau, D.O., FACEP, FAEEM, President and CEO of EPIC.
Jeanie Taylor, RN, Vice President of Risk Management added, “Speaker topics at EPIC’s 2012 annual meeting spanned patient satisfaction, throughput, clinical protocols, reducing variation, eliminating waste and strengthening financial performance. We were very pleased with the degree of interest and participation with six contenders for the award. There was a lot of excitement about the award presentations as EPIC groups embraced this opportunity to network and share their successes and areas of best practice.”

Dr. Lee is board certified in emergency medicine. In addition to his clinical practice in emergency medicine and management responsibilities within his group, he is an assistant clinical professor. From 2002 to 2010, Dr. Lee served as chair of the emergency department at St. Joseph Hospital.
