Binghamton is near the Pennsylvania border, in a bowl-shaped valley at the confluence of the Susquehanna and Chenango Rivers. As the county seat of Broome County, the city is the principal city and cultural center of the Greater Binghamton metropolitan area (also known as the Triple Cities), home to a quarter million people. The population of the city itself, according to the 2010 census, is 47,376. Here you can visit farmers’ markets for fresh produce and seasonal goodies, or stroll an art gallery and relish in masterpieces from historical collections as well as emerging regional artists. Tap your feet to everything from pop and rock concerts to jazz, blues, and salsa performances. One thing's for sure: there is no such thing as boredom in Greater Binghamton.
